Zaloni Shares their Multi-Cloud Data Management Essentials with RTInsights

To be such an invaluable resource to its community members, they have set their main goal to “help advance the field of real-time insights and the massive digital transformation and innovation across many sectors.” At Zaloni, we are fortunate to have the opportunity to contribute our knowledge on multi-cloud data management to this data-driven community. Ben Sharma, Founder and Chief Product Officer at Zaloni, authored a recent article for RTInsights, Multi-Cloud Success Data Management Essentials. The article takes a deep dive into the challenges that companies face when managing data on multi-cloud platforms and presents an array of crucial features and advantages of multi-cloud that enable success across the board. 

Many organizations question why multi-cloud is needed if one provider is doing the trick. What we’ve seen working with our customers is that every platform has different strengths. Over time, platforms have excelled at solving specific use cases or integrations with other data technology tools. Some teams within an organization may need a certain cloud provider for a project or specific use case, in other words, known as a “fit for purpose” cloud environment. Ultimately, as the number of providers utilized by the organization grows, so does the amount of data being stored and accessed while increasing the risk of data silos and lack of visibility and control for IT.  

On a different note, companies are switching to the multi-cloud route to optimize cloud costs and reduce risk. Using multiple cloud platforms prevents vendor lock-in. Utilizing various vendors to tackle use cases that they are best suited for gets the job done quicker with a more affordable price tag. In terms of reducing risk with a multi-cloud platform, Ben’s article states it best: “As data is diversified across providers, risks of disruption of service for mission-critical or customer-facing applications is reduced.” 

Data adds up far more quickly with a multi-cloud operation up and running, which can prove to be a quick path to data silos and lack of control without the proper data management structures in place. There are some essential data management capabilities that one must look out for when researching a multi-cloud platform.
